Monarc FAQ
How fast can the Seeker throw?
The Seeker throws passes at an electronically limited 75mph - this is faster than the fastest NFL Quarterback throw and allows us to reach full field coverage.
Can I train alone?
Absolutely! With a 6-ball magazine, you simply roll the Seeker onto a field, load up 6 balls and then select the drill you want to run on our touchscreen user interface. You place our tracking tag, known as the Pulse, on your hip, and press the button indicating you are ready to start. The Seeker will automatically track you and throw you an appropriate pass per your selections.
What is the User Interface like?
The Seeker has a built-in 10.1 inch touchscreen which is used to navigate the system software. The software has been designed to be intuitive and easy to use.
What are the modes of use on the Seeker?
The Seeker has two main modes: Manual and Robotic. In Manual Mode, you select on the touchscreen where the Seeker is along with where you would like to place the ball. The Seeker automatically calibrates itself to consistently make those passes, punts or kicks to that location with the specified speeds and settings selected. Robotic Mode allows interaction with the Seeker to be fully dynamic. A user selects a specific function they would like to practice, puts on our tracking tag (known as the Pulse), and the Seeker then tracks them and makes an appropriate pass or punt.
What kind of passes can the Seeker make? Can it do punts and kicks as well?
You will be able to practice left and right-handed throws, left and right-footed punts along with end-over-end kicks. With our unique tracking algorithms, all of these passes and kicks can be tailored directly to you or intelligently randomized around you to enhance game-like practice.
When do I use the Monarc Pulse tag?
The Pulse tag is used to track the athlete in real time and is required for all Robotic Mode functionality. In Manual Mode, the Pulse tag can be used as a remote for initiating passes or punts – by either the player or a coach working with a group of players.
How long does the Monarc Pulse tag battery last?
The Monarc Pulse Tag can be used for 3 hours after a full charge cycle.
How is the Seeker powered?
The Seeker is entirely mobile and can be moved anywhere on the field as it is powered by an onboard battery that lasts about 8 hours. This battery charges up in about 2 hours. In the event the battery is out, the Seeker can still be plugged in via extension to a standard 110V outlet.
Can defensive players utilize the Seeker?
Yes, defensive players find a lot of value in the Seeker by practicing highest point drills, picks and working their hands and ball skills generally.
How is the joystick used?
The joystick enables users to launch the perfect pass/punt/kick simply by pressing the button. If you would like to make any adjustments without entering the on-field view you simply move the Joystick left, right, up or down as necessary. This is great on windy days outdoors where throws need to be minutely adjusted.
Can all athletes use the Seeker?
Our product is geared towards professional, collegiate and high school level athletes. Our base functionality includes drills for players of various speed, age, and skill level on the offensive, defensive, and special teams sides of the ball.
Can I track my reps?
Yes. The screen onboard the Seeker displays the current rep count. Teams that have access to our web platform, Portal, may also view usage online and track reps over time.
What does servicing look like?
The Seeker is provided as an all-inclusive subscription. This means that all servicing is taken care of by the Monarc team – at the end of each season, we also perform a full servicing along with hardware + software updates as available.
How about training? What if we have usage questions?
Teams have access to a Monarc rep who will be able to provide virtual as well as on-site training to players, coaches and staff as necessary. We also provide a full-day onsite implementation after delivery of the Seeker.
How much does the Seeker cost?
The Seeker comes as an all-inclusive subscription – the cost will vary depending on the term, and applicable discounts.
Is there any data that suggests that training with a Seeker has real impact?
Teams utilizing the Seeker consistently see an increase in player development and gameday performance. We conducted a study with Pro-Football Focus that documents these results across college football.
Empower your athletes to perform at their peak.
“The Seeker has been a complete game changer because I can come out by myself and catch a few hundred balls in 5 minutes.
It’s really been helping me level up. I’m definitely very grateful and thankful for it and that we have one here at TCU.”
